This series moves through three positions of looking: from the ground, from the second level of a light rail station, and from a small aircraft departing from a flight base near the airport. I was interested in how elevation, speed, and vibration alter the city’s surface. Roads, rails, buildings, and mountains stop appearing as stable landmarks; instead, they become lines, cuts, and blue-grey fragments of movement. The work is a study of suspended perception, where a familiar Chongqing becomes distant, abstract, and briefly unfamiliar through transit and height.
